Final Nights and Days in Pula

We were fortunate enough to spend much of our final time in Pula with the wonderful and adventurous Julie.

On Friday night we saw “Hauser and Friends” at the Pula Amphitheater; as I mentioned in my earlier post, this Roman amphitheater is the sixth largest in the world, so it was super cool even just to be in it, much less attend a concert there. Hauser is a famous cello player (part of 2Cellos for those of you in-the-know) and he was accompanied by some hot, talented, sexy friends and a symphony. He’s pretty hot himself–as Julie said, he’s kind of like Antonio Banderas if he were Croatian and a cellist. It was a delightful performance. Check out that venue! I never got tired of looking at it.

And then on Saturday, we took a bit of a hike/walk around the peninsulas near Pula. After a few close escapes–at one point Julie and Garett were clinging onto a wall over the sea–the hike ended with a swim in the Adriatic. The beaches in Croatia are really amazing, even for someone as heliophobic as I am. The water is clear and you can see all the fish swimming beneath you. It’s just heavenly.

Garett got a Fidel Castro hat to protect his pate.

Thank you to Julie and Siniša for letting us come visit. We had such a great time.

  1. Great to hear from you. Just wanted to tell you how much I miss you and your every morning smile and greeting. Diane is trying to fill the void. I don’t know if she can, but I hope it will happen soon. You Guys are amazing! Enjoy the rest of your journey.
