Montréal & Quebec City

In Montréal, Kelly and I stayed between the neighborhoods of Le Plateau-Mont Royal and Mile End, right next to Mont Royal Park. Montréal felt particularly European because it is in the Quebec Province, which primarily speaks French.

The location of our airbnb was excellent and each morning Kelly would jog through Mont Royal Park before work. Over the weekend, we walked up to the top of Mount Royal together and learned that the city of Montréal is actually named after this mountain (try saying Mont Royal really fast!).

Over the weekend, we walked downtown and to Old Montréal; we don’t have many photos to show from our journey, but we did capture some fun street sculptures.

Also over the weekend there was an Indian culture festival in Mont Royal park, right next to our apartment. There were presentations and food–it was a huge gathering–and we had a fun time hanging out! When we were in Edinburgh, we went to a melã with Sue and Pip. The Montréal festival had the same feel.

Mid-week, we headed up the road to for our last Canadian stop, Quebec City. We allocated only 3 work days for Quebec City, but we still made the most of it.

Kelly and I didn’t stay in the area pictured above. We stayed just a little bit outside of this, along a strip of nice coffeeshops and restaurants. Our stay was relaxing, but there was not much time to explore.

  1. You , two, do have great luck finding Good apartments. I did like the buildings in the pics of Quebec and Montreal. I would have been happy staying in touristy downtown in either city but probably more expensive. So when do I get to go!!! I will have to look into a travel partner.Looks great and close enough to Wisconsin that I could drive?
