Four years ago, when Kelly and I traveled through Europe and many other locations, we stayed at each place for at least one week. We eased into this week+ schedule after overbooking ourselves over the first month of the journey… We seemed to have not remembered this lesson :).
Our 2022 trip so far has been fantastic! But with both of us working, and moving, it hasn’t left much time to blog our experiences. This post picks up from where we last left off.

Kelly and I had a great time in Toronto. Much more satisfying than I had anticipated. In part, this is because I love working in local coffeeshops so much. We just transitioned from part-time remote to full-time remote. And it’s so relaxing to talk with some locals, drink a wonderful latte, and zone in for the first half of the workday in a coffeeshop in a vibrant city.
The pictures above from the main strip of the Annex. Kelly mentioned how much we enjoyed the neighborhood we stayed in, and I second that! So many different types of cuisines, so many coffeeshops, and so many parks. I’m excited to return someday.

Something we enjoy while traveling other countries is visiting historic open air museums (places like Colonial Williamsburg). On our way out of Toronto, we visited Black Creek Pioneer Village, which is based around living in Canada in the mid 1800s. Kelly and a museum employee convinced me to try out some stilts.

Our next short stop was a short stay in Port Hope. This was a relaxing little town. We took care of some car errands here, and then went Treetop Trekking in Ganaraska !

The pictures reminded me of the indoor small businesses in the Atlanta area which include food courts placed in old warehouses. NOT MALLS. Yeah for the walk thru history reminiscent of Williamsburg.
